Victor Sho
Dancer
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, but raised in the Bronx, NY, Victor Sho is the quintessential performer. Despite an initial pursuit of a career in orthopedic surgery, his professional aspirations shifted, as the convergence of choreography, modeling and acting became a prime focus in his life when he graduated college in pre-med. His foray into dance began with 730. A Hip-Hop dance crew, sponsored by Alicia Keys and MBK Management’s, “Teens in Motion.” This experience yielded a host of opportunities in other areas of the entertainment industry and primed Sho for an expansive career in dance, fashion and acting.
As a choreographer, Sho’s versatile style has lead him to collaborate with leading Hip Hop and Pop recording artists including, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato, Cheat Codes, Carley Rae Jepsen, Chrisette Michelle, Wale, Bella Soana, Nyne West, and Juelz Santana. Top Afro Beat artists including, Omawunmi and Iyanya, have also benefited from his talents. His choreography work with The P.L.A.Y.E.R.S. Step Dance Company has been featured on America’s Got Talent, NACA (National Association of College Activities) step tour, and 106 & Park. In the advertising realm, Sho has appeared in commercials and worked on industrials for notable brands including, Old Navy, Bloomingdales, Target, L’Oreal, Crest, Oral B, Cole Haan, Moncler, Tommy Hilfiger, Hermes, AT&T, Samsung, and US Bank, among others. Additionally, he has worked on promo-commercials for The MTV Video Music Awards, Orbit, and The GMHC (with Bank of America).
Sho’s work as a dancer is equally noteworthy, dancing for artist like Madonna, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and MIA. On television he was a principal dancer, supporting acts on America’s Got Talent for four consecutive seasons. He was in eleven episodes of Saturday Night Live, having some of his best scenes with Lin Manuel, Bruce Willis, Maya Rudolph, and Jim Carey. Appearances on The Get Down, Girls, Vinyl, and Nurse Jackie punctuate his work in television. However, Sho’s experiences stretch beyond the small screen to the theatrical stage, as he was an original, ensemble cast member for the national tour of Fifty Shades The Musical.
In testament, Sho’s skill and professionalism have also garnered him opportunities to work with a range of recognized creative directors and choreographers. He has worked with HiHat, Rich and Tone, NappyTabs, Jason Young, Alison Faulk, Rhapsody James, Luam, Ryan Heffington, Jermain Browne, Noemie LaFrance, and other laudable talents.
Although Choreography and acting are a prime focus. Sho continuously seeks ways to inspire others to wholeheartedly embrace their passions as he relishes in opportunities to serve as a movement coach, dance instructor, and mentor for many—not only nationwide, but abroad. In sum, Sho’s infectious, positively-charged personality serves as a foundation, which coupled with his strong faith in God, serves as a driving force in meeting his mantra to “always ride on optimism.”
